Major opportunity for aluminium entrepreneurs in Gauteng, South Africa

Existing and aspiring entrepreneurs in Gauteng will now get the opportunity to present their skills to come up with new initiatives and innovative ideas for the fabrication of products in the aluminium sector, or businesses already in the sector looking to expand their existing operations.

This follows an economic development initiative by BHP Billiton and Hulamin, the Aluminium Beneficiation Initiative (Aluminium BI), for the beneficiation of the country’s aluminium resources.

The aim is to identify, develop and support entrepreneurs and guide them to build sustainable businesses that are able to utilise about 100 tons of aluminium per annum each.

The identification of entrepreneurs will be done in conjunction with USB Executive Development (USB-ED), the public executive development and training company of the University of Stellenbosch Business School. The process will be administered by the USB-ED Centre for Applied Entrepreneurship, one of USB-ED’s centres.

A series of information sessions will be held in Gauteng during June 2015. City
