Established in 1969, the Southern Africa Tourism Services Association (SATSA) is a non-profit, member-driven association representing the region’s tourism private sector, including:
- Accommodation establishments
- Coach operators
- Conference organisers
- Marketing organisations
- Tour operators
- Vehicle hire companies
At SATSA, we strive to maintain our three key qualities in all the work we do: credibility, value and authority. SATSA further provides support to members who require key services and benefits on a local and regional level, and at international trade shows. The organisation also lobbies issues associated and affecting the inbound tourism industry.
To become a SATSA member, a business must prove annually that they adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and service.
SATSA has also established the SATSA Bonding Scheme (a consumer protection scheme to provide guarantees against deposits held with SATSA member), guaranteeing its quality assurance role for years to come.
Our vision is to be the most recognised and sought-after endorsement of good business practice in the Southern African tourism sector. Our mission is to be a dynamic grouping of quality tourism providers throughout Southern Africa. Our purpose is to provide international buyers with advice and information on quality tourism partners in the Southern African inbound tourism industry, as well as to provide our members with key services and benefits, as well as representing them at appropriate levels with Government and NGOs on issues impacting the inbound tourism industry.
